VA-Birders -
Hello from Oregon. I need some ID help. I wish I was back in Virginia
for the fall warbler migration (I'm still lurking on the VA-Bird
listserv - I can't help it!), but it seems I might have a piece of the
East Coast avifauna visiting me here in Oregon. Among the swarm of
Rufous humingbirds at our feeders, an Archilochus sp. hummer showed up
yesterday. I got good photos and they seem to rule out Black-chinned.
If it is indeed a Ruby-throated, it would be the second record for the
state of Oregon. If those of you with regular access to these birds,
especially the immature males, could take a look and see what you
think, I'd appreciate it. Since this is not a VA bird query, I'll take
comments off-list. Thanks!

Also, the migrating Whimbrel being tracked by the CCB made headlines
on the Oregon bird listserv! Another reminder of home...
