Hi All:
John Porter and I went to Va. Beach to see the Arctic tern at Rudee
Inlet yesterday. Sorry for late post; first chance had to get on
computer.
Of all times to leave my Camera home. We saw a Arctic loon swimming in
inlet. Most of the time he stayed up close the rocks with head just
under water. Could have got a great picture on my little camera. We
were able to study loon in scope for at least a hour at a distance of
50 to 75 feet. My fields guides didn't show a juv. just winter. I
would say this bird was first winter.
The Arctic tern came in around 10 AM way out on rock head of inlet
would liked to have a better look. To see two rare birds in the same
day WOW!
