Hello all
Yesterday the Augusta County CBC was held with a total of 10 teams out in the
field . With starting temps. at a cool 21 & ending in a " heat wave " of 42
degrees . The winds made it unbearable & kept a lots of the birds hunkered down
as well as us . At a couple of points yesterday I noticed in yards with
several American Flags straight out in the wind . I have not received all
reports as of yet but at our tally dinner we managed to find 76 species & 4 are
still on the count week as of today . After Thursdays rain & Fridays being a
windy day we had a good assortment of waterfowl on count day . My team started
at 5am & we managed to find 3 species of Owls & A total of 62 species for the
day . When Gabriel Mapel got home from the Rockingham CBC he managed to add to
our list of Great Horned Owl bringing our total to 76 species . Below is a
