HHi: all
John Porter and I Made a trip to Eastern shore yesterday. for the first
time ever I made it over early, shore felt funny
driving past all the Island. The best part of the trip for me was watching 3
Bobwhite in a yard just of Rt. 13. There were two male trying to win the
attention of a female bird. After strutting around the lady friend and dancing,
she did not seem to be impressed. They then took to kick boxing and pecking.
The proud Male winner marched off into the woods with his new found girl friend
right behind him. the other male bird hung his head and marched in the other
direction .
The Black Scoter was seen swimming around almost on the beach at the pull off
just as you leave tool booth the north side. don't know if it is a early
arrival or a sleep over. At the North Hampton County Land fill We about 50
snowy egrets, Little blue heron, Cattle egret, Bald eagle and well over a
thousand laughing Gulls also lots Black Vulture.
In all we had 71 spices for the day Most of the warblers we say were
Redstarts. WE had both Water thrushes. along with a Prairie warbler. we had one
Redhead Woodpecker.
