Previous record for south-central Virginia was March 28. First thought I
heard the bird at about 11:30 AM when there was a light rain. (a faint,
high pitched WEEDLE WEEDLE WEEDLE WEEDLE), but I could not find the bird.
Heard a another similar song at around 2PM, but again could not find the
bird. Finally, I heard the the song at 3:30PM, rushed outside, and saw the
BLACK-AND-WHITE WARBLER climbing on the side of a black walnut tree. BROWN
THRASHERS still singing...non-stop.
