VA BIRDers,
I traveled to Blue Ridge Center for Environmental Stewardship (BRCES, Loud
Co) Friday morning, arriving a bit after 7 am to low clouds and Dominion
working on the power line crossing, which I avoided. I used about 4 hrs
birding the fields at the end of Sawmill Rd plus Arnold Rd - some small
openings in the clouds when I left. Highlight was a signing Cerulean
Warbler on Arnold; Magnolia Warbler was the most numerous. Big miss was
Indigo Bunting - prob. present under the power lines which was not censused.
