I ventured to Back Bay NWR and the Sandbridge area this a.m. An early morning
ocean watch yielded a couple hundred Red-throated Loons moving south and a few
Common Loons on the water. Gulls were in short supply with the most
interesting being 6+ Lesser Black-backed Gulls. A few Gannets, Brown Pelicans,
D-c. Cormorants and Forster's Terns fed along the oceanfront in several areas.
The most interesting observation was 6 Snow Bunting at the refuge headquarters
flying north toward the beach. In Sandbridge, 7 Eurasian Collard-Doves perched
on the power lines and fed along several yards.
