Hi,
We were delighted to spot our FOS-for-our-backyard White Crowned Sparrow here
in Centreville city this morning. There is a feeding frenzy going on at the
feeders since this morning.
To give you an idea of the intense feeding going on, here is a list of all the
birds we spotted in our backyard so far this morning:
Downy Woodpecker (male)
Blue Jay - 3
Cardinal - 3
American Goldfinch - 20
House Finch - 7
Dark Eyed Junco - 4
House Sparrow - 2
White Crowned Sparrow
Song Sparrow
Carolina Wren - 2
White Breasted Nuthatch
Carolina Chickadee - 4
Tufted Titmouse - 3
American Robin
European Starlings - 10+ (on the house behind our feeder)
We have had only one Pine Siskin at our feeders. It does not come everyday :(
We had our first backyard sighting of Chipping Sparrows a day after Sandy
passed us (Tuesday).
