During the William & Mary Ornithology class field quiz a 1st year baltimore
oriole
(dull male) was seen in the vicinity of the Williamsburg Winery (Thursday
afternoon). It was not traveling with blackbirds as they sometimes do.
Unfortunately, this surprise was not on the official list of quizzable birds so
I can't
report what percentage of the class identified this surprise correctly.
