Greeting to all:
The Banister River WMA Christmas Bird Count was conducted despite the wet
weather in the morning and then the very high winds that tried to blow you
out of your socks in the afternoon.
I don't have all of the reports in yet, but we have already added three
birds to the count list.
Adam D'Onofrio and Mike Boatwright found some Laughing Gulls at Staunton
River SP, and Deb Henderson and myself found a Brewer's Blackbird and
finally a Northern Raven. After seeing Ravens in the county off and on in
all season for the past few years, I advise my participants to be on the
lookout for them. I was even looking for them Sunday when we were at what
is left of Edmond's Dairy Farm, when I heard one and then looked up to see
it just above our heads.
I will post a final report when I have it completed.
