I am finally getting it together to start the Bear Mountain Hawk Watch. I have
been VERY BUSY for the past 2 weeks, but plan to get out this week to watch for
raptors.
If anyone would like to come up for hawkwatching, that would be great. I really
need helpers. Also, there are cabins available for rent, if you would like to
stay a couple of days. As an extra benefit, I have also been enjoying quite a
few fall migrants- just saw a Cape May from my porch! A couple of days ago,
there were so many birds in the wooded area down by the pond, I couldn't even
watch them all! I definitely saw many Cedar Waxwings, Blue-headed Vireos, a
Pewee, a few Black and White warblers, several Black-throated Greens, a
Worm-eating warbler, a couple of juvenile Yellow-bellied Sapsuckers, plus many
of the regular residents.
Hope some of you can visit!
