On Tuesday, May 4, four teams of birders scoured the park, tallying 97
species. I was joined by my wife and daughter (starting at 5 a.m. on the
Hike/Bike Trail!). Highlights included:
American bittern 3
Sora 2
VA rail 1
Great horned owl
Barred owl
Nighthawk 2
Red-headed WP 1
RC kinglet 2
Veery - at least 5
Blackburnian warbler
Chat 2
Summer tanager 1
