This morning after a band of rain passed through, my wife and I headed
out to Grafton Ponds in Newport News to see what birds were around and
if there were any early wildflower. A big miss on the wildflowers but a
mother lode of pine warblers. There were at least 15 plus a flock of
15-20 of possible pine warblers that were moving behind some trees. They
were moving fast and I could only ID a few but the ones I IDed were all
pines. We had some nice looks at titmouses, chickadees, and
white-breasted nuthatches. The rain stayed away and it was a great day
walking around a quite interesting place.
