On November 14, 2012, at 3:15 pm my Dad and I saw the Rufous Hummingbird
at Green Spring Gardens in Alexandria, Fairfax County, Virginia. I also saw
the Hummingbird yesterday November 13, 2012 at Green Springs. The
hummingbird was seen both days sitting in the pink rose bush that is in front
of
the arbor in along the circular walk near the house. This hummingbird is
not at all timid. Yesterday, I walked right up to it while it was sitting in
the rose bush. The bird did not even fly away from me. Appears healthy.
Perhaps someone will band it.
Also, seen today at Green Springs today were 35 Tundra Swans along with 3
Snow Geese in the same flock migrating over.
Seen today the resident Peregrine Falcon seen from my office window in
Bailey's Crossroads, Falls Church, Fairfax County, Virginia.
