Everyone is invited to join the regular (every 2nd Sat.) monthly bird walk at
the Banshee Reeks Nature Preserve in central Loudoun County this Sat., Sept 14,
meeting at 8:00 am in the parking lot at the Visitor Center/Manor House. These
bird walks are sponsored by the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy
(www.loudounwildlife.org) and the Friends of Banshee Reeks
(www.bansheereeks.org).
We hold the walk, regardless of the weather, unless it is dangerous but don't
expect a lot of participants if the weather is lousy.
Information and directions for Banshee Reeks, which is open every weekend from
8 am to 4 pm, can be found at www.bansheereeks.org.
Information on the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy's many free programs and field
trips can be found at www.loudounwildlife.org.
Prior to the Banshee Reeks walk we will be visiting the private Dulles Greenway
Wetlands Mitigation Project (DGWMP) at 6:30 am. If you are int'd in joining us
at the Dulles Wetlands at 6:30 am let me know as we need to limit the number of
people there. After you contact me I'll give you directions to our meeting
location. Pls note that there are no real trails on the wetlands and bug
spray, clothes and footwear that will keep you protected from thorns and your
feet dry are a good idea.
Information and directions for Banshee Reeks, which is open weekends from 8 am
to 4 pm, can be found at www.bansheereeks.org.
Information on the Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy and the many free walks and
events it sponsors can be at www.loudounwildlife.org.
