Normally when I go out for a run, I see how many birds I can ID...mostly by
sound. Today I encountered a baby Robin next to the path. The Robin was
about week from being able to fledge. I located the nest in a nearby tree
and decided to climb the tree. Do you know how hard it is to climb a tree
one-handed while holding a baby bird in the other? It gets more difficult
when an adult Robin is screaming in your ear. Well after a couple of
minutes...ok maybe several minutes...I reached the nest and deposited the
baby.
As I climbed down and continued my run, I could see the adult fly to the
nest. I assume this is when the real scolding took place.
