To all,
Because of SOL testing this week our schedules have been messed up. Today I
had the luck of having PE in the morning. We went outside and after doing a
couple of laps running we had the choice of tennis, football, frisbee, and
basketball. I generally play tennis when we go out, not a big player at all
however. I was waiting for ht rest of the students to finish their laps when
I heard a Wood Thrush. Boy was I excited. I was listening to that harmonic
song for a good ten minutes, maybe more. I decided not to participate in any
physical activity rather I decided to sit and listen to the thrush which I
have been longing to see. It stopped singing for a short time and I walked
down to the area in which there was a thin line of trees and brush. I never
did see it, but I sure was close to it. It sang on and off. I was able to
figure out that it probably occupied this small territory and the
surrounding territory, and so decided that one weekend, if possible, to go
look for it. I also saw a Eastern Wood Pee-wee and heard several other
common birds.
