Hello all,
Yesterday March 18 at approximately 5 pm I saw two American bittern very
well exposed in the large pool on the left side at the end of the bay trail.
At approximately 6 pm, about one mile down the beach in the Direction of
False Cape state park, I saw two groups of piping plovers, a set of 5 and
then a set of 2. They were foraging the high water rack line up near the
dunes. If you sit very still on the beach they may come within 20 feet of
you so you can get a very good look at them.
On a side note the gannets were very close in and I was treated to a very
nice plunge diving display and there were many rafts of loons just past the
breakers.
