I had a nice look (in the bright afternoon sun) at the previously reported
Black Terns on the Potomac just south of Alexandria.
I scoped the birds from the Hunting Creek Bridge and there appeared to be a
dozen or more in various plumages.
They were mostly sitting in a group on the water close to the Alexandria
shore.
Nice birds.
