Bruce Richardson and I made a quick check of Staunton River SP late this
afternoon just before the thunderstorms arrived. The hightlight was a group
of 19 Black Terns including 2 birds still sporting breeding plumage. 8
juvenile White Ibis were still present. Greatly reduced from the 30 to 50
that have been seen over the last couple weeks. Shorebirds included
Killdeer, Semi Plover, Lesser Yellowlegs, Solitary, Least and Semi
Sandpipers.
