After rising early yesterday, I opted to sleep in today and went to Ft. C.F.
Smith Park in Arlington for an easy afternoon. 7 species of warblers were
identified, one of which was a beautiful male Blackburnian (he also treated
me with his "sqeuaky ending" song). A Black-billed Cuckoo was in the same
tree right on top of a caterpillar tent, plucking a late lunch (I got 3
pictures). Also of note were 2 Veeries (called, but did not sing) and 3
singing Wood Thrushes. The most activity for warblers was on the path not
far from the bird feeder area by the main building, near the first bench on
the path. The Cuckoo was also in that area.
