The Black-chinned Hummingbird is still present this morning and midday at 9
Randolph Avenue in Cape Charles. The bird tends to sit low in the Buddleia
(butterfly bush) scrub on the outer edge of the side garden, on the east side
of
the house, but it sometimes flies up into the Sweet Gum and White Oak trees
in the back of the property, flycatching there, or perches in dead snags in a
Linden tree by the side of the road, in dead branches at the top. No need to
call or email for permission - it's fine to watch from the front porch. Be
careful not to lean on railings or windowsills - best to use a chair.
