Hello,
I visited Mill Creek Lake this morning 5-20-08 to see what was around. There
wasn't much on the
main body of the lake. I did see an Osprey flying over the water. I decided to
check where the creek
goes into the lake for shorebirds. There was a Solitary Sandpiper and some
Spotted Sandpipers.
There was also a Great Egret thats been there for a while. To my surprise I saw
a Black-crowned
Night Heron. It was an adult. I saw it from the bridge. When I went to my car
to get my scope it
dissappeared I decided to walk the path along the lake( The path is just before
you cross the bridge
on your right). I looked along the edge of the lake on the other side and
spotted the BC N Heron sitting
in an Alder. I looked at it for about 30 minutes. I left to go home to get my
camera and returned around
1:30PM but couldn't find it. I am sure it is still in the same area. I will
keep on checking so I can get a
picture. There was a Canada Warbler singing also.
