The Black-throated Gray Warbler was observed between 10:50am - 11:30am on
Sunday. From feedback that I received last night, subsequent searches for
the warbler after that time were unsuccessful.
There is still a posibility that it is nearby. It sometimes forages in
dense cover without venturing out into the open. Also, it may not become
active in the early morning hours until after the sun warms things up.
Searches yesterday between 8am and 10:30am were unsuccessful. Insects had
become more active around the time that the warbler made its first
appearance.

Directions as posted last night:
The entrance to the State Arboretum of Virginia at Blandy Experimental
Farm is on Rt. 50 in Clarke County, nine miles east of Winchester and
four miles west of the Shenandoah River.
Drive into the farm and follow the directions to the parking area just
past the information pavilion. Park and then walk up the road to the
Peetwood Pavilion for Environmental Education. Walk behind the pavilion
and continue to the grove of trees about 50 feet or so beyond. The
Black-throated Gray Warbler was seen on both days at this location.
