Spent a pleasant Saturday afternoon at Blandy Farm with a friend. This was not
a birding trip but of course I had my binoculars with me & I saw a few birds.
We started out at the Quarters where I saw or heard RB Woodpecker, Downy
Woodpecker, Hairy Woodpecker, Carolina Chickadee, WB Nuthatch, Grackle, MODO,
YR Warbler, Tufted Titmouse. Trees Swallows were soaring over the lawn. The
damp area by the Pavilion hosted some sparrows. Fox Sparrows were doing their
double scratch foraging dance in the mud along with some Song Sparrows. Along
the trail we saw cardinals, Blue Jays, RW Blackbirds. At the parking area at
the succession field we heard an Eastern Meadowlark singing.
