The loggerhead shrike at Blandy Arboreum has been hanging out at the northwest
edge of the field with the weather station for the past hour. It's pretty far
away, but close enough to get good looks through a scope. Also, as mentioned in
an earlier post, the thorn bushes in the field are full of cached food items.
Most interesting was a very fresh least shrew. It seems to be feeding mostly on
red-legged grasshoppers. No sign of any winter finches, but I didn't spend much
time looking at the conifers. Also just had a flyover common raven calling.
