Yesterday, Oct 20, I took my Biological Research class to UVA's Blandy
Experimental Farm in Clarke Co to hear about various types of research going on
there. While there we saw at least 40 pine siskins and 2 red-breasted nuthatch.
A huge commotion of titmice and bluejays in a dense stand of evergeens made me
wonder if there was an owl present. When we investigated further, we found some
"whitewash" but no owls or pellets.
