More BLUE JAYS here in my yard and on the deck than I have ever seen. I
counted about 10 but there were probably twice that many as I could hear more
of them in the woods. They flew in and out of the yard and over the house and
acted very busy. They stayed all day and seemed in very good spirits. No
Crows today at all. Did the Jays have anything to do with that, I wonder?
My first of the year CATBIRD arrived today and came to the deck a couple of
times to see what all the Jays were up to.
I heard a H0USE WREN singing vigorously in the trees in the afternoon. It is
the first one ever in my yard.
I have a TOWHEE that does his "towhee" call but I have not heard him singing
yet. Come to think of it, I have not heard any Towhees singing their tea song
yet this season even on the Parkway. Any idea why?
The CAROLINA WREN wins the prize for "Cute". But WB Nuthatch is the runner-up!
