Went to Riverbend park this afternoon and walked about halfway down river
towards Great Falls NP. In the Potomac channel, between the Va shore and
Conn Island was a Common Loon in full breeding plumage, out in the bright
sunshine. Also a few FOS Northern Rough-Wing swallows amongst the copious
and uncountable Tree Swallows. I did not find any of the warblers I had
hoped to see, but the huge swaths of Virginia Bluebells in full bloom were
truly stunning..
