All,
I had a very slow morning at the Hone Quarry Redish Knob area where I spent
3 hours plus and only racked up 13 species. On the way home I decided to try
Mossy Creek area which runs through both Rockingham county and Augusta
county. Here I found a Brown Thrasher, 1 Purple Finch, 2 Golden-crowned
Kinglets and 4 Snipe. The Thrasher was in Augusta County near the
intersection of Mossy Creek road and Iron_____wood? Road . There is a small
woods there with tons of catbrier and undergrowth. The Thrasher was seen
at the Northern end of this small woods directly across from an old house
(possibly vacant) which is half stone and half white vinyl or wood paneling.
