Here are some spring sightings: This evening I was watching a doe (looking
pregnant) and 3 yearlings in my yard when there was a ruckus in the dogwood.
A Robin was chasing a Brown Thrasher - the first this spring.
I also had 3 Chipping Sparrows that stayed all day eating from the feeders.
Heard a White-throated Sparrow around noon singing and a bit later a Towhee
calling. There were 2 Juncos here on Saturday but none today.
Still have lots of Siskins every day and for the past week I have been
seeing flocks of Cedar Waxwings. They drop out of the trees to get a drink
and after a while move on. Saturday I counted 50+ and on Friday - 70 or
more.
Oh, and a bunny was nibbling grass behind the house. So I saw both Bambi
and Thumper today. And, of course, Perri the squirrel and his many cousins.
Last year on April 12, the first hummer arrived but no one showed up today.
