We spent this morning at Riverbend Park during and after the morning showers
and found some excellent warbler numbers and other migrants. The highlights
were the mixed warbler flocks of up to 40 birds very actively feeding in the
trees between the boat ramp and the picnic area near Conn Island. We picked out
11 species although there we probably species that we missed in the remaining
birds. There were several Peewee and Vireos in with the flocks.
Two Rose-breasted Grosbeaks were very confiding and a Cliff Swallow was seen
among the large number of Swallows over the river early on.
Limited birding in the park yesterday (11th) found a Swainson;s Thrush, 2
Broad-winged Hawks and an Acadian Flycatcher
