Finally on my fifth day at my watchsite (Van Dyke Park, Fairfax City,
VA) it seems like Common Nighthawk migration has finally begun. Seven birds
tonight. I had recorded a distant one on Monday (8-16) and a single one
last evening.
After the cold front passes on Saturday things should pick up.
