SORRY: G-mail sent the message before I was finished.
At the corner of Gallows Road and Boone Blvd. ( just off RT/ 7) there are
two large tall buildings, with pyramids on the top. At 900 p.m. int he
evening, they turn the lights on at the top of these buildings. The
nighthawks come to feed on the bugs the lights attract. One can park in
the lot to the buildings. The lot is currently in constriction. I park
there anyway. PLEASE BE RESPECTFUL OF PRIVATE PROPERTY!!
I plan to be there tonight ( tues. aug. 19th). I think/hope that the hot,
humid weather will attract both bugs and birds, PLUS there a front coming
through that may "push" some birds our way. NO PROMISES !
If you REALLY want to see nighthawks, trying gong nearly every night. They
are there in big numbers every year, but predicting when is a problem.
