Hello VA-birders,
The 16th Annual Kiptopeke Challenge is less than a week away - Saturday,
September 25!
The Kiptopeke Challenge (KC) is the primary fundraiser of the non-profit
Coastal Virginia Wildlife Observatory (CVWO). Many of you are aware of
the work of the CVWO and their commitment to avian research,
conservation, and public education. The CVWO is responsible for the
spring songbird banding at First Landing SP and several programs at
Kiptopeke SP in the fall, including the hawkwatch, hawk and songbird
banding, and Monarch butterfly tagging.
Currently, seven teams are entered in the KC and it is NOT TOO LATE TO
ENTER A TEAM OF YOUR OWN!
If you would like to support the KC, but not by participating on a team,
I encourage you to make a financial donation to the CVWO, or better yet,
to one of the teams already entered in the event:
