My wrens started putting nest material into their winter shelter box on March
12. Today (March 15) a nest is being built on a shelf in my carport. Past
experience tells me I won't know until the female lays eggs which location they
have decided to use. They usually start in the carport and then use the
shelter box for subsequent nestings, but sometimes it's the other way around!
Also have a pair of phoebes checking out the shelf on the SE side of my porch.
Spring has sprung!
