Both Carolina and Black-capped Chickadees occur in Bath County. Although
the Black-capped is the more widespread in that area, both species were
reported on the June 2003 VSO foray to Bath and Highland Counties. In
June of 1999, near Lake Moomaw in Bath County, I observed what appeared
to be a Black-capped that sang the Carolina Chickadee song.
