This afternoon I noticed the pin cherry in my yard shaking oddly and not
with the wind. When I checked with binoculars I saw that it was nearly
covered with Cedar Waxwings. I counted 12 but I am sure there were more.
These beautiful birds were pulling the petals off the flowers and eating
them!
Towards evening I noticed a pair of Cardinals on the ground below the
feeders and with them was a White-throated Sparrow! I had seen another one
briefly a few days ago but it was a tan color. On the one today I could
clearly see the yellow spots and the bold white stripes. I wish they would
stay. Several years ago, my daughter who lived in Daleville, had singing
White-throats in her yard all summer long!
