The Central Loudoun CBC, scheduled for Sunday, Dec. 27 and sponsored by the
Loudoun Wildlife Conservancy, needs some additional help. While some of our
sectors and subsectors are covered, several are not. We've lost some of our
sector leaders and subsector leaders, some temporarily and some permanently,
and would love to have volunteers for those. Also, some of our leaders have
indicated they'd like a change.
We welcome both exp'd and beginning birders, including kids, and they're
welcome to bird the entire day or just a part. The Central Loudoun CBC cover
Loudoun County from the western edge of Ashburn to just east of Round Hill and
runs from Waterford in the north to a little north of Aldie in the south. Some
of it is pretty suburban while other parts are still relatively rural. We are
fortunate enough to get permission to visit several large estates. The count
also includes about few miles of the C&O Canal in MD around White's Ferry and
miles & miles of the W&OD so this count includes both a lot of walking as well
as driving.
The count will be followed by a Tally Rally at which all participants are
welcome.
You can see our circle at http://www.loudounwildlife.org/CBC.htm & access the ;
results of our previous counts from that URL as well as sign up from there if
you prefer. LWC pays the $5 Nat'l Audubon fee for anyone who is a member of
LWC.
