I stopped at Cheatham Annex this afternoon and was treated to an aerial
display over the James River by 2 adult Bald Eagles. White-throated Sparrows
and Yellow-rumped Warblers were plentiful, and a single Blue-headed Vireo
landed within 10 feet to provide an excellent viewing.
A young raccoon was foraging in a persimmon tree. He inspected each fruit
but didn't eat any of them. I expect like us he is waiting for the first
hard frost.
