This morning Russ Taylor and I birded the Chessie Trail in Lexington from the
western end to I-81. We had a good 46 species. Bird of the day was CLIFF
SWALLOW. We noticed about a dozen or so flying around the I-81 bridge and
discovered several nests under the eastern edge of northbound side just past
the second row of pillars from the trail. Other good birds were several
YELLOW-BILLED CUCKOOS, YELLOW-THROATED WARBLERS and LOUISIANA WATERTHRUSHES
still singing, and a juvenile GREEN HERON.
