Hello Everyone and Happy Thanksgiving,
Wanted to share with you birds that I saw while trying to capture images at
Chincoteague Island and Chincoteague NWR from Nov 18 to 21, 2007. The pool at
Wildlife Loop Trail has skim coating of water in some locations.
Snow Geese (300-500?) (Not even in the ball park with the numbers that were
present this time last year.)
Canada Geese
Tundra Swans 8 (Along drive to Toms Cove Visitors Center and beach)
Ruddy Ducks
Black Ducks
Blue-Winged Teal
Green Winged Teal
Northern Shoveler
Mallards
Adult Bald Eagle 2
Peregrine Falcon 1
Great Blue Heron
Great Egret
Snowy Egret
Greater Yellowlegs
Willet 4 (Working Oyster shells along causeway to Chincoteague Island)
American Oyster Catcher 5 (Same place as above)
Double-Crested Cormorant
Common Loon 1 (Salt water marsh near Toms Cove Visitors Center)
Killdeer 3
Female Snow Bunting 1 (Near Toms Cove Visitor Center)
