Holiday Greetings!
At 4:15 this afternoon, my husband rushed in the house to ask me what kind of
bird was sitting atop the wooden power line pole near our townhouse. I
grabbed the bins and looked out the front window to see a Merlin! My husband
is not
a birder, but he's got the eyes to spot birds. What a treat to view a Merlin
from inside the house. We'd driven around Nokesville this morning hoping to
see one, never dreaming we'd see one at home.
