This past Sunday, May 9, at about 5:30 a.m. we heard a chuck-will's-widow here
at the house. I'm guessing it's the one we had here all last summer, which
hopefully means he was able to attract a mate last year and will do so again
this year. Anyone have thoughts on how to locate a nightjar nest in an expanse
of woods? We always have several whip-poor-wills stay around for the summer,
too.
