I did not see the Crossbills around when I was at Blandy this morning but they
were refound later so they are still around. I did see a Chickadee there today
that I believe is a Black-capped. I have posted a photo here
http://www.flickr.com/photos/22374475@N07/. There is more contrast between the ;
back and the wing, it had the white "hockey stick" on the wing, a buffy wash on
the flanks and a slightly messy edge to its bib. Later I went up to Snicker's
Gap, there were hardly any hawks moving with the exception of an immature
Golden Eagle that flew over soon after I arrived at 11:15.
Also of note for those interested in county listing: there was a flock of 19
Lesser Scaup in the pond along Borden's Spring Rd. (look on ebird for the exact
location) and 9 Hooded Mergansers in the pond to the east of 340 about halfway
between the 55 intersection and White Post.
