Today, April 13th, we recorded the 1,000 bird of the season...a Turkey
Vulture. We like to track this milestone to see how the migration is
progressing. We are well ahead of last year's pace, where the 1,000th came by
on the
very late date of May 13th, however, the year before that, the event
happened on a very early date, April 2nd.
We also saw our first Cattle Egret of the season cross the river today.
