Hello all
Yesterday morning Pat & I planned to checkout the CBBT & some of the Eastern
Shore but our plans were cancelled because of the uncertain weather system that
was heading our way . Instead we decided to go & checkout the birds on the
Colonial Parkway & the Wildlife loop in Jamestown . Due to our disappointment
the Wildlife loop was closed due to the damage from Isabel . Anyway the birds
were few along the Parkway but what we saw were good birds to find . This is
the frist time I have ever seen active duck hunting along the Parkway ! After
that we went to the Pottery to shop & ended our day back in Augusta County .
Just in time to see one Short -- eared Owl & one Great Horned Owl in the Swoope
area . Below is a list of birds seen along the Colonial Parkway.
By the way on our way down we saw a flock of about 1 million Blackbirds coming
off the roost just before coming into Richmond some where near the I 95
interchange . We wre traveling on I 64 & was unable to stop to see what types
of Blackbirds .
