A drake Common Goldeneye in the River just off the "Lion's Bridge" adjacent
to Mariner's Museum Park caught my attention this morning. As I scoped farther
out I was pleased to see several more lines of Goldeneyes on the water, as well
as a couple small flocks in flight. I counted 39 birds, but there was probably
more; the most Com. Goldeneyes I've ever seen at one time.
Other waterfowl of note observed in James R.: Bufflehead (140), Common Loon
(10), Horned Grebe (15), Ruddy Duck (8), and Red-breasted Merganser (2).
