On Monday Calvin Brennan and I walked south from headquarters along the west
dike at Back Bay. Along the way we saw two Least Bitterns, 8 King Rails, one
Black-necked Stilt, a sprinkling of shorebirds, and the Common Moorhen which I
previously reported. The moorhen was in the north end of the vegetation in the
middle of B-storage impoundment exactly where it had been the previous Friday.
The walk was an easy one, but not one I'd recommend in the current heat wave.
It's nice to know the moorhen is still present.
