A late posting, Thursday (5/15/08) evening (between 1935 and 2005) I
had 8 Common Nighthawks fly over my house in Fairfax City. That is the
most I have ever seen in a single evening over my house. All were
flying generally NE in direction. One did a half-hearted display
flight. Also of interest, at least for my densely populated suburban
location, we have a pair of E. Bluebirds that have set up shop in the
neighbor's yard. Both parents are out hunting in my yard like crazy,
making lots of round trips to the nest box; must be some little ones
in there! This is really cool as I have never seen Bluebirds other
than as passer-throughs in or around my yard.
